Major Event Planning  & Contracts- A Practical Workshop

As we emerge from a year of COVID19 restrictions, many operators may be considering free or fee-paid major public events to drive exposure of their brand and increase direct-to-consumer sales, especially via partnership with industry groups and venue owners.

Major events involving venue owners, sponsors, suppliers and other players present a host of issues spanning contract law, local government requirements and marketing strategies.

Please join us for a complimentary seminar looking into the legal and practical aspects, especially tailored to wineries, hospitality venues, tourism operators and community organisations.

Part 1:   Contract specialist, Mark Sallis, Wallmans Lawyers will discuss local government requirements (such as for temporary road closures) and the efficient formation and administration of a Major Event Agreement between a venue owner and a promoter (including ‘deal points’, contract management plans -such as for site safety, waste and noise management).

Part 2Katherine Elia, Director of On the Table Events, is one of the State’s foremost event planning companies. Katherine will discuss ‘real-world’ issues from an event promoter’s perspective, where things commonly go wrong and how to avoid pitfalls during and post event.

Part 3: Hospitality & Licensing Partner, Ben Allen, Wallmans Lawyers, will discuss the liquor licence aspects, including COVID restriction considerations.

The session will conclude with a Q and A with guest Bronia Henty-Smith, Gallagher Insurance and Risk Management, also sitting on our expert panel.  Bronia will answer questions regarding event insurance, cancellation insurance (including COVID), premiums and claims. Bronia has over 30 years’ experience in dealing in all facets of insurance ranging from property, liability, event and cancellation insurance, agricultural shows and corporate insurances.

There is no cost to attend the seminar, however due to popularity please register to secure your place.
