Roadwork Contracts- A practical workshop on the General Conditions of Contracts for Construction National Capital Works

In August 2019 the APCC and Austroads released a template (NCW4 Ed1.1) for use by Government for roadwork construction projects.  The new template was intended to be, and in our view is, a better document than AS4000 for such construction jobs.  

Join our Local Government contract and property specialist, Mark Sallis for a practical workshop on how to best use the template document, including an exploration of special conditions of contract (less than those needed for AS4000) to be considered when drafting. 

The session will also allow for a Q and A to delve into and further discuss key considerations.

If time allows, we would also cover the Code for the Tendering and Performance of Building Work 2016 issued under the Building and Construction Industry (Improving Productivity) Act 2016, as applicable to roadworks of significant cost being funded by the Cwth Government directly or via the State Government.

About the speaker: 

Mark Sallis has particular expertise in contract preparation and review.  Mark has prepared or advised on a range of contracts for Councils including sales of land, leases, licenses and permits, supply contracts, facilities management agreements and land management agreements.

The session will be chaired by Lachlan Andrews who heads Wallmans’ Property, Infrastructure and Construction practice and has extensive experience in all aspects of major projects experience, including due diligence, structuring, financing, RFT documentation, contract and construction management. 

This session will be relevant to many people working in local government, including those in property, construction, project management and infrastructure roles.
