Tim Graham


Tim practices across the firm’s Business and Commercial team with a strong focus on Financial Services.

As an experienced financial services and corporate commercial lawyer, he has a deep understanding of compliance and operational risk. Having worked as General Counsel for an ASX listed organisation and having run his own business, Tim has the ability to offer genuine insight into commercial and regulatory challenges with a practical, highly commercial and outcome focused approach. 

Tim has the capacity to ideate and advocate novel solutions to complex legal and regulatory issues. He advises on the intersection between technology and regulation, has advised fintech and Buy Now Pay Later businesses and also played a pivotal role in developing the BNPL code of practice. Tim has multi-jurisdictional and multi-channel financial services and consumer finance experience, including fintech, payments, product, privacy, regulatory change, investigation, enforcement, remediation and corporate governance.

Often engaged to advise on complex ASIC, ACCC and AUSTRAC investigations, Tim has significant competition and consumer law experience including leading a successful and industry defining appeal on the New Energy Tech Consumer Code in the Australian Competition Tribunal.

He is a transformational leader experienced in developing legal and compliance functions, building teams and organising change management within businesses. Tim is a professional mentor committed to a growth mindset and life-long learning. As such, Tim is completing a Master of Legal Business with the College of Law focusing on emerging legal technology and innovation in legal practice.
