Geoff has been practising since 1989 and has established himself as one of South Australia’s more experienced medical defence lawyers. He routinely represents medical and dental practitioners in civil and criminal proceedings at coroner’s inquests and in disciplinary inquiries.

Geoff regularly provides advice to medical and dental defence organisations and their members on issues involving risk management, allegations of unprofessional conduct and claims of negligence. Additionally, his practice includes the administrative law issues arising from professional activities of health practitioners. Outside the health sector, Geoff also acts for members of the teaching profession who require representation and assistance in relation to disciplinary and criminal proceedings.

Although Geoff’s litigation and dispute resolution experience is extensive throughout the South Australian Civil and Criminal Court systems, as well as the disciplinary and administrative tribunals, he recognises that the high personal and financial costs of litigation demand a focus upon attempts to achieve a negotiated, rather than a litigated, outcome for his clients.

Geoff has been listed in the preeminent national Best Lawyers Australia list since its inception in 2008 and additionally, in 2012, 2016, 2019 and 2020 he was named the Lawyer of the Year (Adelaide) in the Health Law sector. He has also been listed in Doyles Guide as a 'preeminent' Medical Defence Lawyer.

Having been involved in the management of Wallmans for a significant number of years, Geoff is currently the firm's Chair of Partners.
