Amanda Hughes


Amanda practices in the firm's Litigation and Dispute Resolution team, with experience in providing corporate and commercial dispute resolution advice to a broad range of clients, from individuals and small business to large corporations.

Amanda advises clients in relation to matters involving contracts, franchising, negligence, building and construction, trusts, misrepresentation, finance and agribusiness, insolvency and bankruptcy. Amanda frequently appears in the Magistrates Court, District Court, Supreme Court of South Australia, and the Federal Court.  In addition, she provides briefing, instruction and assistance to counsel for hearings, argument of applications and trials.

As part of our estate disputes team, Amanda is involved in matters concerning contested estates, testamentary capacity and undue influence claims, trust disputes and claims for further provision pursuant to the Inheritance (Family Provision) Act.

Amanda is admitted to the Supreme Court of South Australia and the High Court of Australia.  She has a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Psychological Science from the University of Adelaide, and a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the Law Society of South Australia.

Amanda’s interest in human rights and social justice led her to intern at the Cambodian League for Promotion and Defense of Human Rights in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, in 2017.

Amanda volunteered for a number of years in a joint project between SA Police and the Red Cross, supporting youth between ages of 10 - 17 during police interviews who did not have a parent or guardian available.
