Alex joined Wallmans Lawyers in 2017 as a solicitor in the firm’s Litigation and Dispute Resolution section specialising in commercial and insurance litigation, having previously practiced in Adelaide and Perth.

With a significant insurance law background, Alex has experience in contractual interpretation and providing complex indemnity advice, as well as defending professional indemnity and public liability claims on behalf of insurers. He has particular expertise in regards to proportionate liability and double insurance.

A considerable part of Alex’s practice is assisting in the provision of specialist advice and representation to the Local Government Association Mutual Liability Scheme (LGAMLS) regarding public liability and professional indemnity claims concerning South Australian Councils and Local Government entities.

With experience in general commercial litigation Alex also advises on a range of disputes including competition and consumer matters, marine law, contractual disputes, building and construction matters, and Corporations Act and partnership disputes.

Alex enjoys working closely with clients to reach favourable yet commercially realistic outcomes, whilst understanding the need to protect business operations and interests.

Alex is admitted to the Supreme Courts of South Australia and Western Australia and the High Court of Australia, and has appeared and instructed Counsel across a range of jurisdictions. 

Alex holds a double degree in Laws and Legal Practice and Commerce from Flinders University. He has represented Australia in track and field at the World Junior Championships and is a two-time national finalist in the 400m.
