Paul Gordon Joins ABC Breakfast Radio

Paul Gordon joined Stacey and Nikolai on the ABC radio early this morning to talk about the Ed Sheeran copyright case.

The complex case involving Ed Sheeran’s ‘Thinking out loud’ argued that the vibe of the song was similar to Marvin Gaye’s ‘Let’s get it on’. Ed Sheeran won the case as it is hard to argue that someone owns the vibe of a song.

Paul not only showcased his knowledge of Intellectual Property law and copyright issues whilst chatting to Stacey and Nikolai, but also shared a sound knowledge of the international music industry.

“We’re going to keep on seeing these cases pop up because there are only so many notes, there are only so many chords, so eventually you get to a point where there are going to be similarities”, said Paul Gordon, Partner at Wallmans Lawyers.
